1. Who this is
Topo-grapher is run by Aki, a solo founder. This policy covers data collected through topo-grapher.com and the app itself. For how billing and refunds work, see the Terms & Conditions.
2. What we collect

| Project data | Site locations, project names, and the terrain files you generate — kept as project history for Pro/Company accounts so you're not re-running the same site twice. |
| Billing data | Handled entirely by Stripe. We see your email, plan, and subscription status — never your card number. Stripe's own privacy policy covers what they hold. |
| Usage data | Which features get used, generation counts, free-tier limits hit, and similar events — tied to an anonymous device ID before you sign in, and to your account after. Used to understand what's working and what isn't. |
| Technical data | Approximate location (country-level, from your IP) so we can pull the right elevation dataset for your site — not stored as a precise location, and not linked to you by name. |
3. What we use it for
- Running the service — generating terrain, keeping your account and project history working.
- Billing — processing subscriptions and renewals through Stripe.
- Support — replying when you email us.
- Understanding usage — which features get used, where people get stuck, what to build next. This is the only reason usage/analytics data exists.
- Occasionally emailing existing users about the product (like a heads-up on a new feature or a plan change) — never third-party marketing, and always with an unsubscribe option.

5. Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run Topo-grapher. They process data on our behalf, under their own security and privacy commitments — they don't get to use it for their own purposes.
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles account authentication.
- Stripe — processes payments and stores billing/card details; we never see your card number.
- Cloudflare — runs the workers that fetch elevation data and process checkout requests.
- Google Analytics — aggregate usage analytics, only after you accept the cookie banner (see below).
We'll also share data if genuinely required by law (a valid court order, for instance) — but we're not in the business of handing it over otherwise.
6. Cookies & local storage
- Necessary: a few things stored in your browser (not sent anywhere) to make the site work — your theme choice, whether you've seen the upgrade prompt this session, and a pending-checkout flag if you sign up mid-purchase. These aren't tracking and can't be declined without breaking basic functionality.
- Analytics: Google Analytics, loaded only if you accept the cookie banner. Declining, or not responding, keeps it off. You can change your mind any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.
7. How long we keep it
Account and project data for as long as your account is open, plus a reasonable period after in case you come back or for our own accounting/legal needs. Billing records are kept as long as Stripe and applicable tax law require. Delete your account and email aki@topo-grapher.com if you want project data removed sooner — we'll action it promptly.
8. Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us to see what data we hold on you, correct it, delete it, or export it. UK/EU/EEA residents have these as a statutory right under GDPR; we'll honour the same request from anyone regardless of location. Email aki@topo-grapher.com — no form, no delay tactics.
9. International transfers
Our service providers (Supabase, Stripe, Cloudflare, Google) may process data outside your home country. Each of them maintains their own safeguards for cross-border transfers under GDPR and equivalent frameworks.
10. Children
Topo-grapher is a professional tool for architects, BIM coordinators, and landscape architects. It's not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
11. Changes to this policy
If how we handle data changes materially, we'll update this page and note the new date at the top. For anything that reduces your rights or adds new sharing, we'll email active accounts directly rather than relying on a quiet page update.
